Speaker Biography

James Ray

James Ray has a Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management Administration from Utah Valley University and has over 15 years of experience in the Emergency Management world. James is employed by the Utah Division of Emergency Management as the Community and Business Resilience Specialist, promoting private sector and community resilience, and as the State CERT Program Coordinator.

James is an experienced presenter, trainer, and course developer. He is the development leader for the Online Business Continuity Planning Training, Hybrid CERT and Disasterville tools for use nationwide. He is a subject matter expert in business continuity, emergency preparedness, whole community emergency management framework, volunteer program management, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), and Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD).

James served 4 years as the Executive Secretary for the State of Utah VOAD Board and is currently the Vice President for the Disaster Discovery Center Board of Directors.

James lives in Logan, Utah and is willing to speak throughout the state of Utah. He does not charge for speaking.
